What Does Antojo Mean In Spanish

I provided the word antojitos to expect street food in a brief essay in an A2 course. Is this a strictly Mexihave the right to term for street food? What execute other nations use? My teacher sassist comida de la calle would certainly be a neutral term to usage but does anyone anywhere really use comida de la calle in a herbal way?

An antojo is somepoint that you want on a whim. It doesn't have to be street food or even food. In the conmessage of food an antojo can be a craving.

"El otro día me entró un antojo de comerme un pretzel así que me paré en Wetzel's Pretzels."

I don't recognize how to translate street food bereason the idea is not global. Wright here I live street food deserve to be a hot dog cart or a gourmet food truck. "Comida de la calle" would certainly be generic sufficient to work-related.

Judging by the images of "antojito", it looks like a details term for food. I've never heard of it, yet I don't recognize a lot around Mexico.

(In Spain) Street food are dubbed "puestos (de comida) callejeros".

Antojitos have the right to be understood as small (bite dimension, or 2 bites) pieces of food virtually almost everywhere in Latin America. (think amusage bouche) It might not be the wanted term, yet it will be understood that way.

Specifically for street food, that can be confusing outside Mexico.

Comida de la calle, sounds a bit technological to me (a fluent speaker), but here's the conundrum. Street food, by definition is neither formal nor technical, so many nations would certainly have their very own regional term for it. Sometimes, also in the very same nation you might uncover various words used for street food.

Antojito or antojo have the right to be interpreted as craving, that’s why it’s called antojito because it’s so excellent you crave it.
