Choose Well Rating System for San Diego's Assisted Living Providers

San Diego County's sponsored program called "Choose Well" is in its 3rd year with CARR serving as the County's contractor for the program.  There are currently 130+ facilities who have found value in the program and voluntarily joined.

Facilities who have joined the program have agreed to have their facility rated using the Choose Well Scoring device and, in exchange, receive a free Facility Profile Page where they can promote the amenities, care, services, price range, and philosophy of care that make them such a distinguished provider in the County.  Visit San Diego's Choose Well site to search for rated facilities.

The Choose Well staff continue to recruit new facilities, so please check out the website ongoing as new facilities are being added weekly.

This program is the brainchild of San Diego Supervisors Dianne Jacob (District 2), and Greg Cox (District 1).  This is an innovative program, the first of its kind in the state, and in the United States.  To be sure, other states do have rating schemes for assisted living facilities, but they are either state-initiated, based on testimonials, and/or run by private entities. Choose Well is unique as a voluntary program, based on public records data plus facility-provided information, and sponsored by the County of San Diego.
