FIRST to Offer Free Online Access to RCFE Public Documents
To quote Conan Doyle "It may be that you are not yourself luminous, but you are a conductor of light." This site is not itself luminous, but it is a conductor of light.
Beyond ‘telephone directory’ information available at a few not-for-profit and state sites, no public record information on any Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE) in the state of California is available online: that is - until now. CARR believes its unique database of public information on San Diego and Imperial counties' RCFEs is the first of its kind in California. Let the sun shine in!
The premier service offered by CARR is free access to its online database, containing 7,200 pdfs of public information about RCFEs in San Diego and Imperial counties. The data has been harvested from various public agencies including the regulatory authority for RCFEs - California’s Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD).
Detailed inspection, citation, civil penalty and complaint data on RCFEs located in San Diego and Imperial counties is in CARR’s database. Access to this searchable database is free to all.
Availability of these data will open a heretofore-obscured window to what goes on behind closed doors: performance, compliance, and quality-of-care issues in the RCFE are now visible for consumers’ scrutiny. The searchable database provides essential information for caregivers, family members, conservators and public guardians searching for performance and quality–related information on which to base their placement decisions.
The ultimate beneficiaries of this website will be the citizens of California. You, dear citizen, can now judge for yourself whether the services and amenities advertised by RCFE facilities agree with the story told by their public file. You can also evaluate if the agency responsible for licensing, inspecting and enforcing Title 22 regulations consistently and aggressively acts in the best interests of the residents living in RCFEs.
CARR is the only website devoted exclusively to RCFE information, issues, advocacy and reform, for the benefit of consumers of RCFE long-term care. CARR's constituents are families, caregivers and residents of RCFEs, and agencies and organizations that support long-term care regulatory transparency.
CARR wants to be your one-stop shopping website for everything you need to know about RCFE long-term care placement, issues, problems, support and links to access. And if there is something you need to know, but it's not addressed on this site, Contact Us.
